Melilla

hey everyone! im back home from melilla. a small spanish region in north africa, next to morocco.
i lost last round in singles, but managed to get through a round in doubles playing with a Polish girl.

Melilla is just one of those places where you start to expect everything to go wrong before it happens. For example, the only day it rains happens to be the same day the taxi's decide to go on strike. It's not the most exciting of places. it's always very windy and some parts are quite poor. the people are very friendly though and are always willing to help.
Shopping in Melilla is brilliant, all the top names and brands are very cheap!

for now, it's back to training again, and i will keep you posted!

...thanks again to Mick McCarron for updated my website..photos etc.

Home sweet home!

Back home! Unfortunately the computer services at the hotel didn't allow me to continue my blog. I lost both my matches and didn't really play too well. anyway its back to hard work and training again.

But here are a few tips for tennis players and non-tennis players, just incase you go to Israel:

1. - Try not to get frustrated with security staff as they hold you back an hour to ask you why the hell you were in Lebanon last year.

2. - Always bargain with taxi drivers esp. if they charge you more than the day before on the same trip!

3.- Whilst waiting for the transport bus do not get too friendly with the scruffy kitten as it may have fleas. ( i got bitten 3 times)

4.- (for non-tennis players) make sure you get to the hotel buffet before the tennis players otherwise you are likely to go hungry.

5. - Be prepared to fight for practise courts when you have a match, esp. with russian mothers.

6. - Do not ask where the local Mosque is (Dad)!...its called a Synagoque!

7. - When the transport bus for the tournment players does arrive, push to the front and get ready to sprint!

8. - Two useful words in Hebrew: Shalom: Hello, Toda: Thank you.

1st blog!!

Hello everyone, welcome to my blog!!
My Current WTA (Womens Tennis Association) international ranking is 995 and I've set this up so you can see whereabouts I am in the world and follow my progress through my tennis tournaments.
I travel around quite a bit and visit many places while I'm on tour, unfortunately most of the time is spent on court or at the hotel so not too much sight-seeing involved but I'll try and make this interesting for you readers!
Ok, so here are a few of the places I've visited so far this year: UK, Spain , Israel, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Morocco, Turkey, Portugal...
Til next time,
Nadia xxx
P.S. Many Thanks to Mick McCarron who set this up for me!
